Fist Bumps, Fresh Starts, & Community

Last Saturday, Star Gospel Mission was honored to participate in a community resource event hosted by the Charleston County School District’s McKinney-Vento Program, supporting students and families as they prepare for a new school year.

Our amazing volunteers helped make the day special by handing out school supplies, connecting families with helpful resources, sharing information about our programs, and offering plenty of fist bumps, smiles, and encouragement along the way. Their energy and genuine care helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for every family who stopped by.

At the heart of the day were the kids. Watching them connect with caring adults and leave with a little extra encouragement was a beautiful reminder of why these moments matter.

We are so grateful to the incredible volunteers, CCSD’s McKinney-Vento team, and the many organizations who came together to make this event possible. It was a wonderful example of what can happen when we show up for our community with a shared purpose and a heart to serve.
