    Job Summary:

    The Program Associate at Star Gospel Mission provides supervision, support, and structure for program guests. This dual role ensures a safe, orderly, and welcoming program environment, facilitates daily program operations, and provides critical organizational and administrative support to leadership. The position works closely with program staff, volunteers, community partners, and the leadership team to deliver classes, workshops, and events while also managing executive tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and meeting coordination. Each Program Associate will be assigned to a specific program(s) (Pathways, R.I.S.A., Recovery and Intervention from Substance Abuse, Morning Light, or GraceWorks) and receive specialized training for that program’s needs.

    Primary Responsibilities: (30%)

    • Supervise and support program guests, ensuring adherence to house guidelines and expectations.

    • Assist in facilitating group meetings, educational workshops, and devotional time.

    • Provide encouragement and support to program guests, fostering accountability and personal growth.

    • Maintain accurate documentation of guest interactions, incidents, and compliance in CharityTracker or other designated systems.

    • Report any facility maintenance or operational concerns to the Program Officer.

    • Respond to emergencies and implement crisis management protocols as needed.

    • Foster a culture of healing, growth, and self-discovery within all programs, aligned with the Mission's values.

    Program Guest Support

    • Maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for all program participants.

    • Serve meals, manage sign-in/out processes, and ensure smooth transitions between activities.

    • Build positive, respectful relationships with guests while enforcing house rules and program policies with grace and consistency.

    • Lead onsite activities, Bible studies, and program components as assigned.

    Case Management & Resource Coordination

    • Provide orientation to the program guest based on established guidelines and requirements; conduct program guests needs assessment and obtain pertinent information.

    • Develop intake and case plans for program guests and complete necessary paperwork including goal setting, budget and other pertinent information.

    • Coordinates with the Program Team help connect the program guests to community resources including housing, employment, education, healthcare, and recovery support. Meetings & Professional Development

    • Attend staff meetings, conferences, and training sessions.

    • Participate in ongoing professional development.

    • Contribute to program evaluation and improvement efforts.

    Program Specific Responsibilities: (50%)

    ➢ Pathways Program: Support men in transitional housing by encouraging accountability, reinforcing financial and personal growth goals, and assisting with guest check-ins.

    ➢ Morning Light Program: Assist mothers and children in transitional housing, ensuring a nurturing and structured atmosphere. No childcare services will be provided, and no employee is authorized to babysit.

    ➢ GraceWorks Program: Support guests and clients receiving emergency assistance, ensuring smooth coordination and resource distribution.
    ➢ RISA Program: Provide structure and support to individuals in early recovery, ensuring a sober and stable environment.


    Additional Duties: (20%)

    • Represent Star Gospel Mission at community forums, public events, and partner meetings.

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, ordinances, and best practices.

    • Collaborate with the Program Officer to plan and execute strategic initiatives and Mission goals.

    • Serve as a mentor and resource for program staff, offering guidance and expertise to navigate challenges.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    • High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework or relevant experience preferred.

    • Experience in human services, residential programs, or faith-based recovery setting is beneficial.

    • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

    • Ability to maintain professionalism, composure, and fairness in challenging situations.

    • Comfortable enforcing rules and providing clear guidance to guests.

    • Understanding of addiction recovery, trauma-informed care, and crisis response preferred.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Commitment to the mission and values of Star Gospel Mission.

    Certifications/Licenses:

    • Valid State Driver's License.

    • Christian Ministry credentials/experience helpful.

    Materials and Equipment:

    Physical Requirements:

    • Evening and weekend hours required.

    • Primarily indoors with occasional outdoor responsibilities.

    • Ability to meet attendance requirements.

    • Ability to speak and read the English language.

    • Ability to sit, walk, and stand on a frequent change basis in order to perform the duties of this position.

    • Physical activity required, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

    Working Conditions:

    • Work is typically performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
