Star Gospel Mission Receives Grant to Support New Homes for Women and Children
We are grateful to announce that Star Gospel Mission has received a generous grant from the State of South Carolina, with the support of Senator Sutton.
The award will be allocated to Star Gospel Mission’s Morning Light Women and Children’s Transitional Housing Program, helping furnish and equip two newly renovated residential buildings and creating nine new living spaces for women and children transitioning out of homelessness and housing instability.
These new homes will provide more than a safe place to stay. They will offer families a stable, dignified environment where they can begin to heal, build skills, pursue education and employment, and work toward independent living.
The expansion will include six family living spaces for mothers and children and three living spaces for single women. A new outdoor playground will also provide children with a safe place to play and families with space to connect.
Safety. Stability. Hope.
Those three words capture the heart of Morning Light.
Through individualized case management, parenting support, education and employment assistance, counseling, and connections to community resources, Morning Light helps women and children build a foundation for lasting stability and transformation.
We are deeply grateful to the State of South Carolina and Senator Sutton for investing in Star Gospel Mission and in the future of women and children in our community. As this project moves forward, we look forward to welcoming families into these new spaces and watching new chapters unfold.
