Meet Our New Volunteer Coordinator

We’re excited to welcome Mrs. Brandy Toussaint to Star Gospel Mission as our new Volunteer Coordinator!

Brandy first learned about Star Gospel Mission through her familiarity with Dr. Platt and his ministry. But her connection to the Mission became much more personal through her sister’s experience with homelessness on and off over the past five years.

That experience gave her a firsthand understanding of how much stability, dignity, and genuine care can mean to someone navigating homelessness. It also stirred something deeper in her: a desire to see people encounter Jesus in the middle of their hardest seasons.

As she learned more about Star Gospel Mission, the mission statement itself stood out to her. She says it beautifully captures the kind of hope and restoration she wants to be part of.

That combination of faith, compassion, and purpose is what drew her to Star Gospel Mission.

Outside of her work here, Brandy has been a wedding and event planner since 2019 and owns her own wedding planning business. She loves all things weddings and brings that same passion for people, hospitality, and creating meaningful experiences to her role at SGM.

When she’s not planning an event, you’ll likely find her with a good book and a latte or coffee in hand. She also loves exploring new coffee shops in Charleston and wherever her travels take her.

Most of all, Brandy loves serving people.

“God has given me a heart to serve and care for others, and I am passionate about making sure everyone has an opportunity to experience God’s love.”

We’re so glad to have Brandy on the Star Gospel Mission team and look forward to all the ways she’ll help our community find meaningful opportunities to serve.

Welcome to the team, Brandy!
